This quality Modernist coffee table is a match for the Modernist Lounge
Suite, shown in our Lounge Suite section. Crafted from burr maple wood with a black
lacquer banding, the table resembles the style of the great Art Deco
furniture makers DIM of Paris.
This set of fluted tables was designed and handmade by the UK's largest
manufacturers of quality Art Deco furniture, Harry and Lou Epstein. The pair
produced various nests of tables, but this particular set is the finest and rarest
of them all. It is crafted from Canadian burr maple wood, one of the most
expensive woods available in the 1920's and 30's.
This H & L Epstein nest of tables made in maple wood with black lacquer
banding is beautifully fluted around the edges, with ribbed scrolled legs and an
elegant leaf design at the foot. The table is extremely rare, and is made in a
style remniscent of French designer Paul Follot's work. Follot exhibited
furniture of this type at the great 1925 Paris Exhibition, which marked the
beginning of the Art Deco movement.
This quality H & L Epstein coffee table from the 1930's, is crafted from
maple with black lacquer banding. The table, supported by a platform base, is
carved with an elegant leaf design, and has ribbed scrolled legs, and a fluted
edge. The style is remniscent of pieces produced by French designer Paul Follot.
Crafted in walnut, this comprises 4 stylish tables which next under a large
circular fluted centre table. The set has been polished to a high standard.
